Human Security for All (HS4A)

Safeguarding Basic Human Rights Through Technology

The message is universal. With unprecedented global challenges, the U.N.’s Human Security for All (HS4A) initiative serves to cultivate collaboration and innovation across all industries, all countries, to improve the human experience. The Consumer Technology Association, producer of CES, is proud to be part of this first-of-its-kind partnership.

How Can This Partnership and Initiative Enhance Humankind?

Technology enables positive change that can reach all humanity. First introduced by the U.N. in 1994, the concept of human security recognizes the importance of personal wellbeing and identifies security pillars tied to an individual’s experience in life. To promote these human security tenets, the show will highlight—as a CES first—the latest tech innovations and thought leaders dedicated to solving the most serious threats facing humankind.

We invite technology leaders like you to join the best and the brightest in the industry this January to share the latest advancements across the technology ecosystem. The world is waiting for your ideas, and your business’s breakthroughs.

Technology’s Critical Role in Human Security

Human security recognizes the importance of personal wellbeing and includes eight security pillars tied to an individual's experience in life. Tech innovation can be the catalyst in discovering new solutions to some of humankind’s most pressing challenges – you can help shape our future experience.

Food Security

Technology aids in producing nutritious food more efficiently with less waste, water, and land, and is accessible to all people. From growing to distributing food, innovative tech can bring the necessary dietary needs to all communities.

Access to Healthcare

Innovation that improves patient care and health outcomes. Technologies include health products/services that empower individuals to have more control over their health as well as access to health care in remote settings.

Economic Security

Innovation that creates a pipeline for new companies, ideas, and job opportunities. These technologies enable entrepreneurs to start a business, run a business and offer opportunities for meaningful work at a fair wage.

Environmental Protection

Technology creates a path to a more sustainable future. Innovation helps to reduce our environmental footprint and better harness climate-friendly energy resources while introducing novel approaches to limiting waste.

Personal Safety

Focused on technologies that keeps individuals, their finances, data, and privacy safe. This includes innovation such as blockchain-enabled tech and cybersecurity products, as well as products and technologies that limit risk for personal wellbeing.

Community Security

Technology enables access to information, education and provides services that keep communities safe. These technologies provide better emergency services for citizens or deployment of wireless broadband in remote areas.

Political Freedom

Innovation empowers governments and citizens to connect and share information freely and fairly. Constituencies equipped with tools that strengthen self-determination can prosper peacefully.

Mobility

Technology gives individuals independence to move freely without sacrificing their well-being or livelihoods. Technology is speeding to market safe and reliable autonomous, efficient and accessibly modes of transportation.

The World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS)

Founded in 1960 by intellectuals including Albert Einstein, Robert Oppenheimer, Father of Manhattan Project, and many others, The Academy serves as a forum for reflective scientists, artists, and scholars dedicated to addressing the pressing challenges confronting humanity today independent of political boundaries or limits, whether spiritual or physical — a forum where these problems can be discussed objectively, scientifically, globally, and free from vested interests or regional attachments to arrive at solutions that affirm universal human rights and serve the common good of all humanity.
