After a PhD at Tufts and postdoctoral work at UW-Milwaukee, Burns joined Dell to work in the field of emerging technologies. He specializes in the study of hybrid quantum computing, and how to leverage modern servers and HPC with new technologies. Currently, Burns is working with Dell's supply chain to identify how heterogenous compute workflows can improve outcomes for optimization problems.
