The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® today announced that John Foley, CEO and co-founder of Peloton, will be the CES 2022® Leaders in Technology (LIT) dinner speaker. This invite-only dinner brings together policymakers, technologists, media and entrepreneurs. Emmy Award-winning FOX Business anchor Liz Claman will host a discussion about Peloton’s journey from startup to success story and how Peloton created a movement that has propelled the health and fitness industry forward.

The presence of health and wellness tech at CES continues to grow with the latest products and innovations from global brands and start-ups. In a recent report, CTA found the total revenue of health and fitness tech will reach $13 billion in 2021, a 12% growth over 2020. Connected exercise equipment, such as stationary bikes, rowers and treadmills, will earn $3.9 billion in revenue 2021, a 40% increase from 2020.

“Tech is powering a revolution in the fitness world,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “John’s vision for an immersive, community-building fitness experience has helped millions achieve their health goals. Liz discovered Peloton back at CES 2015 and Peloton has since redefined how we can maintain active lifestyles with technology. Both Peloton and The Claman Countdown have become legendary with devoted fanbases, and we are thrilled to have them together on stage at CES.”

Foley and his co-founders started Peloton in 2012 to create a first-of-its-kind interactive fitness platform that brings the energy and benefits of studio-style workouts to the convenience and comfort of home. The company’s thousands of interactive live and on-demand classes across 10+ fitness disciplines can be accessed through the connected Peloton Bike, Peloton Bike+, Peloton Tread and Peloton App. As an avid cyclist and boutique fitness addict, John leveraged his engineering, manufacturing, consumer tech and business experience to create Peloton, a technology company that meets at the nexus of fitness and media and is impacting the physical, mental and emotional health of millions of people globally.

Liz Claman is the Emmy-Award winning anchor of The Claman Countdown (weekdays 3-4PM/ET). She joined FOX Business Network (FBN) as an anchor in October 2007.

The LIT program fuels discussion between government and industry around the innovation policy landscape and will include conference programming around topics like self-driving vehicles, cryptocurrency, trade and cybersecurity.
