CTA Celebrates Centennial at CES 2024

Overview Since 1924, CTA has fostered innovation across a dynamic tech landscape. As owner and producer of CES, CTA will showcase the organization’s centennial at CES 2024. Attendees can look forward to exhibits, photo ops and more as they learn how CTA impacted the evolution of technology, from early radio to TV, and from closed captioning to OTC hearing aids, AI and beyond. These themes will take center stage at the show, along with sustainability tech and human security for all.

Las Vegas will soon welcome CES 2024 across 2.5 million square feet of prime event real estate. That’s a big change from the show’s premier in 1967 when it occupied about 100,000 square feet at the Hilton and Americana hotels in New York. The event featured 117 exhibitors visited by 17,500 attendees.

Then, the show’s highlights included transistor radios, stereos and televisions with integrated circuits that paved the way for advances in color and digital TV. Marquee exhibitors included 3M, Motorola, Panasonic, Philips, Sony and Toshiba.

Fast-forward 57 years to this January 9-12. CES will host more than 4000 exhibitors in 40-plus product categories to demonstrate how far technology has come. More than 1000 speakers will offer expert perspectives on the present and future state of technologies impacting digital health, artificial intelligence, sustainability, accessibility, diversity and inclusion, vehicle tech, space tech, cybersecurity and metaverse, as well as on policy, research and trends.

Here’s a look at CTA’s 100-year highlights at CES 2024.

For 100 years, CTA has ignited innovation by leading the tech industry through advocating for innovation-friendly policies, capturing emerging trends in market research, developing consensus standards, and convening innovators to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. The celebration of CTA’s 100th Anniversary will be on full display at CES 2024 providing insights into our history, and where the tech industry is headed over the next 100 years.
