The IBM Telum Processor is our first processor designed with an on-chip accelerator for real-time AI inference and insights. Designed to address increases in consumer fraud, Telum embeds AI's predictive abilities directly into transaction workloads, alongside improvements in performance and security, to detect fraud while a transaction is taking place. Having Telum's accelerator in close proximity to data means that companies can conduct high volume inferencing for real-time, sensitive transactions without using off-platform AI, which can impact performance. The technology enables a shift from fraud detection to prevention. It has a variety of applications in trading, financial services, and insurance.
