For more than 20 years, Last Gadget Standing has been a hallmark competition at CES®. This year, with the all-digital format of CES 2021, Last Gadget Standing turned to electronic live voting as five new products were unveiled to the audience for them to decide which holds the most potential to skyrocket to fame.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold

The demonstration revealed how when folded, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 can fit in your purse. Unfolded — or even slightly bent — the new Lenovo device offers several modes for various use cases. For split screen use, the top half of the screen could be used for a call while the user looked at a recipe on the bottom half. Another example presented was using the ThinkPad slightly bent two view two consecutive pages of a book. As one large screen, the device is also an option for easy notetaking.

Mojo Vision

A powerful single contact lens, the Mojo Vision redefines what is possible with wearable devices. The contact lens produces augmented reality information visible without any additional hardware. Wearers can simply look at an object or a person and see relevant information. Turn-by-turn directions, instructions for maintenance projects, presentation scripts, contact information and more are now easily accessible without a separate screen.

OrCam Read

Also a CES 2021 Innovation Awards Best of Innovation winner, the OrCam Read aids users who are blind or visually impaired through seamless audio text playback. The pen-sized device reads aloud from any printed surface or digital screen in real time, activated by laser guidance options. Even in dimly-lit environments, built-in LEDs illuminate the page to allow the artificial intelligence reader to process text.

TGO Etee

Etee is the first-of-its-kind finger, touch, gesture and pressure sensing controller for gaming and virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR). Roughly the size of a bike handlebar grip, the controller gets rid of the need for gamers to memorize a button layout and provides a more immersive experience. The TGO team is working with partners to integrate the technologies into interiors such as cars, developing sleek and controllable environments without the need for buttons or wiring.

ArcX Sports Ring

A smart ring for sports and fitness, the ArcX allows users to control playlists, take split times, improve workouts and more while their phone is secure in a pocket or backpack. The ring contains a small combination joystick and button so users can perform any function on the smartphone without being needing to handle the bulky phone — even take an incoming call or make emergency phone calls. Connected through Bluetooth, ArcX can also control other devices, including sports cameras and wireless speakers.
