CES 2023 Health Protocols

PLANNING FOR CES 2023

CES 2023 is returning to Las Vegas for a live, in-person event. More than 3200 exhibitors, leading global media, top retailers and industry leaders will join us in Las Vegas January 5-8.

Your health and safety are important to us, and we are proud that the key decisions we made last year led to a successful CES 2022. We continue to monitor COVID and other health developments across the globe and will follow health safety guidelines from the WHO and CDC, as well as applicable federal, state and local laws.

Following are the health and safety guidelines we will implement at CES 2023. We will continue to evaluate and provide updates to this page as needed.

NEW CES 2023 COVID-19 Testing Policies for Attendees Entering the U.S. from China, Hong Kong and Macau

As you may be aware, starting January 5, the United States government is requiring that all inbound passengers from China, Hong Kong and Macau test negative for COVID before boarding a plane to the United States. Travelers from these areas will have a different process for obtaining their badge onsite. Click here for a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

Before You Leave Home

CES encourages all attending to:

  • Get your flu shot.
  • Get up to date with your COVID vaccines and booster shots.
  • Test regularly as the most effective way to detect COVID and isolate if you are infected.
  • In accordance with current CDC guidelines as of September 10, 2022, international travelers to the US must show proof of vaccination against COVID before boarding a flight to the U.S. Visit the CDC website for more information.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT CES

COVID Testing

  • We strongly recommend you self-test before leaving and upon arriving in Las Vegas. To find Las Vegas testing sites, visit NVCovidFighter and use zip code 89109.

  • CES will provide one complimentary Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self Test kit, provided by Abbott, upon request at Customer Service Center locations Jan. 3-8.

  • If you feel ill while on-site at a CES exhibit venue, we will offer free testing at first aid stations at the LVCC and Venetian Expo. We also will provide isolation recommendations from the CDC if you test positive. Please do not enter a CES venue or after-hours event if you are sick.

  • For people who are not sick but seeking a test, CES will offer individual pay testing available Jan. 5-8, 8 AM-6 PM daily, in LVCC, West Level 2, W102 and Venetian Expo, Level 3 Murano. Rapid antigen tests are $75 (15-20 min results), Rapid PCR rest are $179 (30-35 min results).

Vaccines

  • We strongly encourage COVID vaccination and boosters as vaccines are proven to prevent the threat of critical illness.

  • We strongly encourage you to get your annual flu shot as well to further reduce the threat of illness.

Masks

  • Wear a high-quality mask indoors if you are more comfortable, and we ask that you respect those around you that choose to do so.

  • CES attendees can visit customer service counters to pick up high-quality masks.

  • We advise high-risk individuals, and those with family or colleagues who are at a higher risk of getting COVID, to wear a high-quality mask recommended by the CDC.

 Healthy Venues

  • Since 2020, CES official exhibit venues have improved ventilation systems and increased outside air flow.

  • The Las Vegas Convention Center, Mandalay Bay and the Venetian Expo have been awarded the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR™ certification by ISSA. This accreditation means the properties are using cleaning protocols and work practices to minimize risks associated with infectious disease.

  • CES will implement various new practices to reduce surface touch points at high-traffic areas.

Conference and Exhibit Areas

  • As with CES 2022, conference and meeting areas will be set to provide additional space for social distancing.

  • As with CES 2022, the primary aisles on the exhibit floor will be wider to counter overly close contact.

  • Security screening entry points into CES venues will have one-way traffic flow.

Healthy Habits

  • Hand sanitization stations will be placed throughout CES venues.

  • Consider best practices such as avoiding shaking hands, and managing traffic flow at exhibit stations, meeting areas and product demonstrations.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EXHIBITORS

Below are some additional recommendations for exhibitors as you plan your CES experience.

  • Ensure your booth design can accommodate proper social distancing. This includes designated entrances and exits, single-direction traffic flow within your booth, and socially distanced seating in demo/presentation areas with an access-control monitor.

  • Ensure your booth has plenty of hand sanitizer that is easily accessible.

  • Provide frequent booth/product cleaning that includes regularly disinfecting surfaces and wiping down high-touch items.

  • Have a plan in the event of illness among your team members while at CES.
