John Padgett

Chief Experience and Innovation Officer, Carnival Corporation & plc

John Padgett joined Carnival Corporation in 2014 as chief experience & innovation officer, responsible for guest experience innovation, development, creation and ops integration. In his role, Padgett is creating game-changing guest experiences that are differentiated based on personal interactions, empowered by invisible technology and shared with the world via original media. Carnival took the CES2017 keynote stage to announce the OceanMedallion and the world’s first experience Internet of Things (xIoT) as the hinge-pins to MedallionClass - a next-level guest experience based on personalization and frictionless service delivery. With two MedallionClass ships from Princess Cruises now in operation, guests today are enjoying enhanced levels of personalization and guest service, as the platform is being extended across the brand’s entire fleet of 17 ships. On the media front, Padgett’s production initiative includes five TV series distributed on ABC, NBC, Univision and Telemundo; as well as streamed on popular OTT platforms, the OceanView mobile app and onboard 60 of the Carnival Corporation’s 103 ships. Prior to Carnival Corporation, Padgett spent 18 years with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts spearheading the invention, development and implementation of innovations that included the MagicBand, FastPass+ and Disney’s Magical Express, among others. Padgett earned an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in finance and holds over 2 dozen patents and multiple innovation awards.
