Daniel Cherry is the CMO of Activision Blizzard Esports Leagues, overseeing all marketing, public relations and social media for both the Overwatch League and Call of Duty World League. Daniel was named to Sports Business Journal’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list, and is part of a growing group of sports executives who have joined Activision Blizzard to blaze new trails in the rapidly expanding world of Esports. Daniel brings over 20 years of marketing experience to this new role, most recently serving as Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer for the three-time Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center arena, where he oversaw all marketing/sales strategy, branding, and innovation, as well as being a part of the senior leadership team that supported business operations across multiple professional sports and Esports teams. Prior to that role, Daniel served as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Consumer Planning & Research at DIAGEO N.A. Prior to joining DIAGEO, he was the Chief Marketing Officer of the legendary soccer club The New York Cosmos, led by club President and global soccer icon Pelé. Daniel helped establish a $30 million valuation and buyout of the re-launched Cosmos brand. Previously, Daniel was a Managing Partner & Director of Brand Strategy at AdAge’s 2017 Agency of the Year Anomaly, which was named one of one of FAST COMPANY Magazine’s “World’s Most Innovative Companies” (ranked #24 in 2008).
