Colin Anawaty

Executive Director, athenahealth

Colin Anawaty is currently an executive director at athenahealth and based out of their R&D office in Austin after the acquisition of Patient IO, a care coordination platform he co-founded in 2013. At athenahealth, he leads the team responsible for developing a patient-centric care management platform that’s embedded into their Ambulatory, Hospital, and Population Health products with the goal of delivering on the quadruple-aim. Colin’s career has spanned early-stage companies across finance, e-learning, advertising, and entertainment industries where he provided design and product development leadership. After graduating college in 2006, he moved to Los Angeles to work on a bleeding-edge multiplayer platform that was licensed by Riot Games for League of Legends and id Software for Quake Live. At the onset of the iTunes AppStore, he started a mobile development company that built Top 10 apps and was later acquired by MPOWER Ventures in 2010, a venture capital and financial services firm backed by Floodgate, Founder’s Fund, Pierre Omidyar, Red McCombs, and John J. Mack. Colin received his undergraduate from University of Texas McCombs School of Business, sits on the advisory board for Healthcare@McCombs, a mentor for Techstars, active investor & advisor to startups, volunteer for the Texas Civil Rights Project, and policy advocate for the Consumer Technology Association.
