Darrell Issa

Darrell Issa is a businessman, former Member of Congress, strong advocate for government oversight and accountability, and Chairman Emeritus of the Consumer Technology Association. During his tenure in Congress, he was a leader in driving public transparency, improved international relations around the world and fostering American innovation in technology, science and scholarship. From 2010 to 2014, Issa was Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which conducted essential investigations into several of the most damaging scandals in decades: Fast and Furious, the IRS targeting of conservatives, and the security failures in Benghazi that resulted in the deaths of four Americans. Prior to his public career, Issa achieved the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army and served as founder and CEO of the international consumer technology company, Directed Electronics Incorporated. In 2018, he was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as Director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
