Roel Peeters

Co-Founder and CEO, Roost

Mr. Peeters is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of startup experience ranging from enterprise software to consumer electronics and semiconductors. Mr. Peeters is the CEO & Co-founder of Roost ( Roost is focused on disrupting the traditional property Insurance model through their Property Telematics suite of solutions. Roost’s primary GTM approach is through Insurance companies deploying directly to their policyholders. The effect is a reduction in claim cost expenses (fire and water perils costing $25B/year in the U.S.), and driving policyholder engagement through a digital mobile app experience. Before starting Roost in 2014, he was the co-founder of Ozmo Devices, a pioneer in low-power Wi-Fi. Ozmo delivered the enabling technology for the world’s first WiFi mouse (by HP) and the WiFi remote control for Roku 3. Mr. Peeters is a co-inventor of low-power Wi-Fi Personal Area Networks (PAN) technology and successfully created a worldwide standard known as “Wi-Fi Direct”. Ozmo was acquired by Atmel in 2012. Prior to Ozmo, Mr. Peeters was one of the first employees at InQuira (acquired by Oracle), a search and web self-service enterprise software provider. Earlier, Mr. Peeters held various applications engineering, sales, and sales management positions with ICOS Vision Systems (acquired by KLA-Tencor), a semiconductor equipment manufacturer. Mr. Peeters received his MBA from The Wharton School and an MSEE from the Catholic University Leuven in Belgium.
