Daryl Cromer

Vice President, Chief Product Security Officer, Lenovo Research

Daryl Cromer is currently the Vice President of the Device Innovation Research Lab within the Research & Technology division of Lenovo. Mr. Cromer oversees investments in the strategic and fast-growing connected devices market; including current devices, such as Smart Phones and PCs, as well as emerging devices, such as Augment Reality, Virtual Reality, Foldable Devices, and Wearable. New area of focus is how AI and sensors can smartify devices, improve manufacturing and enable era of IOT devices. In this role, Mr. Cromer’s top priority is to stimulate the innovation of emerging devices by identifying and nurturing new and future areas for investment and growth. He works closely with the business leaders to invest in the future, drive business development, and accelerate technology transfer to bring new innovations quickly into the marketplace as a quality product. Mr. Cromer is a profile inventor; he holds over 375 issued US patents and was named Inventor of the Year several times at Lenovo and IBM. He was also appointed as an IBM Distinguished Engineer for his numerous technical contributions before joining Lenovo. Mr. Cromer been active in numerous industry groups and on boards of several startups. Mr. Cromer received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and computer engineering and a Master of Science in solid state physics from the University of Cincinnati.
