Lee Schwamm

Executive Vice Chair, Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital

Dr. Lee Schwamm is Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, Executive Vice Chairman of Neurology and the C. Miller Fisher Chair in Vascular Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center. An early pioneer in telehealth, he oversees the Partners National TeleStroke Network which currently provides acute stroke consultation services to rural and community hospitals through partnerships in multiple states and covers 6.5 million residents in New England. Dr. Schwamm serves as the Director of the Center for TeleHealth at MGH, where he oversees all synchronous telehealth programs and activities across all clinical departments at MGH. At Partners Healthcare, he co-chairs the Virtual Care Steering Committee supporting telehealth activities and leads Stroke Care Quality efforts across all hospitals in the Partners Healthcare System. He has authored over 350 peer-reviewed publications and his research has been funded by numerous sources, including Harvard University, MIT, multiple federal agencies (NIBIB, NINDS, CDC, PCORI, AHRQ, HRSA), the Massachusetts Dept of Public Health, and the US Dept of the Army.
