The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) – owner and producer of CES®, the global stage for innovation – announced today that for the first time, CES 2019 will provide the opportunity to earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits during the Disruptive Innovations in Healthcare conference on January 10, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV.

This first-of-its-kind program at CES will address topics including the positive impact of digital therapeutics; FDA-approved apps that treat chronic conditions; the effect of remote patient monitoring and virtual care; how telehealth is transforming the patient experience; and the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve healthcare.

“Digital health has become a key part of CES, showcasing life-changing technologies that address real-world issues like opioid dependence, mental illness, chronic disease and more,” said Karen Chupka, executive vice president, CES. “The discussions and hands-on opportunity to experience the full digital health ecosystem from AI, digital therapeutics and predictive analytics – makes CES 2019 a can’t miss event for the healthcare community.”

The program will help doctors and healthcare professionals understand how digital therapeutics can aid in patient care and coupled with the hundreds of medical apps and products on display at CES 2019, they’ll be able to incorporate technology to better aid their patients.

Previous workshops at CES have featured chief medical officers, CEOs and other speakers from the 2breath Technologies, Johnson & Johnson, Mayo Clinic, Omron Healthcare, Samsung, Walgreens and more – and following years of growth, drew more medical professionals to CES than ever.

The growing presence of digital health at CES is supported by the work of CTA’s Health and Fitness Technology Division, which supports the consumer health technology industry through education, research, standards work, policy initiatives and more. And CTA recently hired its first VP of Regulatory and Policy, Digital Health to provide guidance on key technical and regulatory issues related to consumer health and wellness technology products, services, software and apps.

Save the date for Jan. 10, 2019. Hotel blocks are open and CES registration will open Sept. 10. To be notified as additional information becomes available, visit CES.tech.
