As part of the World Bank Group and CES Global Tech Challenge, IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, launched TechEmerge Health East Africa, a global challenge for health tech innovators from around the world who are interested in bringing their solutions to the East African market to improve health care delivery and patient outcomes and build commercial partnerships.
More than 20 leading private health care providers in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia — representing multi-specialty hospitals, primary care clinics, labs, pharma retailers and insurers — have signed on to the program.
IFC provides support throughout the market-entry and tech transfer process for both innovators and health care providers, mitigating financial and operational risks associated with market entry for innovators and reducing adoption risks for local health care providers.
