Maya Noël
CEO, France Digitale


Maya Noël is the Managing Director of France Digitale, the leading European startup and investor association with nearly 2000 members. The organisation's mission is to create European digital champions and to animate and federate the startup ecosystem in France.

Maya Noël started her career in digital in 2012 and immediately focused her energy on finding the best talent for fast-growing startups. In 2015, she founded her startup YBorder, specialized in international recruitment and financed by ISAI.

In 2016, she joined the StartHer association (now Sista), alongside leading female entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, and campaigned for more parity and diversity in business & tech.

Pascal Cagni
French Ambassador for International Investments & Chairman, Business France


Pascal Cagni was appointed, in August 2017, Ambassador for International Investments by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron. Since that same date, he has also been Chairman of the Board of Business France, the national agency in charge of the internationalization of the French economy.

Pascal Cagni is Founder & CEO at C4 Ventures, a leading European Venture Capital firm that focuses on startups with a strong potential for disruption across three themes: smart hardware, future of commerce and future of work. C4 Ventures supports entrepreneurs as lead investor in Series A and as coinvestor in later stage rounds.

Since January 2018, he has also been a member of the working group in charge of the redaction of the Franco-Italian friendship treaty of the "Quirinal".

Pascal is a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Paris) in public service, of the HEC Paris MBA, and of the University of Strasbourg III Robert Schumann in business law. He also attended Stanford University's Executive Program for Growing Companies (EPGC) and was an auditor for the 63rd national session of the Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale (IHEDN). He received from Christine Lagarde the insignia of Chevalier in the National Order of Merit and from Bruno Le Maire the insignia of Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.

Éric Carreel
Co-founder and President, Withings

Éric Carreel is the co-founder and President of Withings, a company devoted to improving health via an ecosystem of award-winning connected devices and services.

Trained as an engineer, Éric Carreel launched his first company in 1990 and in 2008 co-founded Withings. Eric’s commitment to innovation is part of a larger vision as he is the leader of several other startups in the field of new technologies, has authored more than 50 patents, and is a leading figure in France’s technology ecosystem. He remains driven by a passion to build technology that can improve people’s health.

Brian Comiskey
Director of Thematic Programs, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®
 

Brian Comiskey is the Director of Thematic Programs at the Consumer Technology Association. Brian is responsible for the thematic indexes developed and maintained by CTA and Nasdaq as a part of a more than decade long partnership. Covering a variety of sectors including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, gaming, and robotics, Brian and his team manage a portfolio of 15 thematic indexes with 20 products and $10B in assets under management tracking these indexes across listings in more than a dozen countries. 

Prior to joining CTA, Brian consulted for the United States Coast Guard on digital transformation and cybersecurity policy. 

Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the College of William & Mary. 

Dr. Bettina Experton
CEO, HUMETRIX

Dr. Bettina Experton is the founder and CEO of HUMETRIX, a digital health company which provides AI-powered cloud services and mobile health platforms deployed worldwide. The Humetrix AI-powered Cloud Platform provides health analytics insights to consumers, healthcare providers, payers and government with Precision Public Health services and products available for international use worldwide. As an example, for the COVID-19 pandemic, Humetrix applied its AI-based analytics platform to help the US military monitor the Covid-19 pandemic, forecast its evolution, map geographic gaps and ethnic inequities of the Covid-19 vaccination program, and measure Covid-19 vaccine effectiveness over time.

Over the last 12 years, Dr. Experton led the development of the Humetrix technology platforms including the iBlueButton mobile app, ranked No1 by the US Department of Health and Human Services for use by 62 million Medicare beneficiaries. Under her leadership, Humetrix also developed innovative edge-computing platforms, such as Tensio for hypertension management and coaching, and more recently, both WhatMeds™ for medication management and SOSQR® Global for device-to-device ephemeral health information exchange. SOSQR Global is available as a customizable platform available in more than 80 countries and in over 40 languages.

A serial entrepreneur, Bettina founded four successful technology companies and is a health informaticist and technology innovator author of several issued technology patents. She serves on the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) Board of Industry Leaders and on the CTA Health Division Board.  A physician trained in internal medicine, pediatrics, and public health, she is a former State of California Public Health Officer, a published health services researcher, and is Adjunct Professor at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.

Samantha began her career as a consultant at Eurogroup, a consulting firm specialised in organisation and strategy, within the Bank and Finance division. Prior to Elaia, she joined Clipperton Finance, a corporate finance firm dedicated to high-tech growth companies.

Samantha sits at the board of France Digitale, building an alliance between digital entrepreneurs and investors, as well as StartHer, an organization that aims at promoting entrepreneurship by women.

Benoit Roblin

Benoit serves as the Director of BPI France le Hub, a unique organization dedicated to unleashing the full potential of the 330 startups invested in by BPI France through a comprehensive range of value-added service. Benoit's previous professional experience spans a decade of consulting expertise in M&A and operational improvement (at KPMG and Celerant Consulting), as well as roles as a Strategy Director for U.S. corporations (including Avis Budget Group Western Europe and XPO Europe), and as the Chief Operating Officer in a startup (Zipcar Europe).

Thomas Serval
Co-founder and CEO, Baracoda Group

Thomas Serval is the co-founder and CEO of Baracoda Group. A serial entrepreneur, visionary leader, and category creator, Thomas holds fifty patents in connected technologies and transforms large companies and the daily life of consumers through disruptive innovations. Having held executive managerial positions for Microsoft & Google, Thomas has steered Baracoda’s innovation toward daily healthtech, encouraging behaviors and habits for self-care and disease prevention.

For the last decade, Thomas has focused on developing innovative technology that helps address preventative health needs and promotes positive health behaviors. Baracoda’s user-centric product development philosophy centers on integrating new technologies into everyday objects. Thomas is building his vision of Daily Healthtech with data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and through gamification. He wants to empower people with data that they can rely on for quality, personalized information and use in their interactions with medical professionals. Ultimately, Thomas’ goal is to help people take a proactive approach to preventive care.

Thomas is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique (Ensae) and remains heavily involved with the schools’ interactions with startups and incubators. He is a regular lecturer at top French institutions such as ESCP, ESSEC, ENA and Corps des Mines. In 2017, he was a guest lecturer at Stanford University, and detailed how he created the connected oral care consumer product category. For his efforts across multiple decades delivering innovation in 2018, Thomas was knighted by the French President, presented the “Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur,” citing his innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.

Gary Shapiro
President and CEO, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®

Gary Shapiro is an acclaimed author, lobbyist, and president and CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, the trade association representing the $505 billion U.S. consumer technology industry, which supports more than 18 million U.S. jobs.

Taking the role of President and CEO, Shapiro evolved the idea of the workplace over his 40-year tenure leading the organization. Directing a staff of 150 employees alongside thousands of industry volunteers, he built a forward-thinking successful business focused on the further development and integration of technology in all industries of the world. Under his leadership, CTA has won numerous awards for its healthy workplace, family friendly employment practices, and environmentally friendly exhibition practices.

Shapiro is a New York Times bestselling author, whose books include “Ninja Future: Secrets to Success in the New World of Innovation” (HarperCollins, 2019), “Ninja Innovation: The Ten Killer Strategies of the World’s Most Successful Businesses” (HarperCollins, 2013) and “The Comeback: How Innovation will Restore the American Dream” (Beaufort, 2011).
