Dave Bakula

David Bakula is Senior Vice President of Global Product Leadership & Industry Insights for Nielsen Music, overseeing Nielsen’s global music industry analytics, product development, label and major brand relationships in the U.S. and Canada and driving the overall research and product development strategy. With more than 25 years of experience in analytics and research in the music industry, David has held senior positions at a number of multinational companies.  He began his career at Musicland Group in Merchandise Planning and Inventory Management, before moving on to Universal Music Group to build and lead their highly respected  business analysis team.  He has been with Nielsen for nine years, leading product development and consulting with clients to meet their analytical needs. As an industry influencer and thought leader, David has presented his research internationally and is a highly sought after commentator on the music industry and emerging analytical trends.  He has appeared on Bloomberg TV, CNBC, Fox Business TV and is a frequent contributor to USA Today, Billboard, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Forbes and other publications.
