Dazhong Zhang

Dazhong Zhang, known as a pioneering leader of the Chinese Media and TV broadcasting industry, graduated from Shanghai University’s Social Department in 1991. Mr. Zhang also possesses an EMBA degree from CEIBS (China Europe International Business School) and a sociology doctoral degree.
In 1993, Dazhong Zhang established China’s first ever professional sports television network that would come to be known as Shanghai Cable Sports TV Channel. His other tenures included serving the role of general manager for Shanghai Men and Women Volleyball Club and managing Shanghai DongFang Basketball Club – the current Shanghai Sharks – where Yao Ming formerly played. From his achievements, Mr. Zhang is known as a critical member of China's first batch of sport industry pioneers.
In 2006, during Mr. Dazhong Zhang’s tenure as the Vice President of the Shanghai Media Group, he undertook the role of the Chairman of the Board for the newly created subsidiary company – Oriental Shopping Network, China’s first real home shopping TV channel. At the same time, he also aided the establishment of IPTV, BesTv Ltd.(600637). Mr. Zhang once again became the industry leader within China's radio and television new media.
During January of 2015, Mr. Dazhong Zhang resigned from his role at Shanghai Media Group. In collaboration with the founder and executive chairman of the Alibaba Group, Jack Ma, and Alibaba Group’s CEO, Daniel Zhang, Mr. Zhang helped with the development of Alisports. In September of the same year, Alisports was official founded in Shanghai, China, with Mr. Dazhong Zhang serving as founding partner and CEO.
Alisports’ mission is to build China’s Sport Economy Fundamental Platform, which shall upgrade the entire sports industry chain, through the incorporation of digital economy to reshape the Olympics, and provide all partners within its ecosystem the highest value while keeping one goal in mind, “Make Sports Simple”.
