Barnes Johnson

Barnes is the Director of the Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery in the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA), Office of Land and Emergency Management. Barnes’ office leads solid and hazardous waste related programs at EPA and in particular implementation of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.  This includes a focus on sustainable materials management with a particular focus on improving the management of electronics throughout their lifecycle.  Barnes has been at EPA for over 33 years and brings a diverse background to his present position.  He has worked in a variety of EPA programs including radiation and indoor air, Superfund, solid and hazardous waste, policy, enforcement and water offices.  Barnes has Masters Degrees in Wildlife and Fisheries Management and Applied Statistics.
